About Us
At The Recovering Place, we believe that recovery is as individual as the people who walk through our doors. Our practice is founded on the values of compassion, collaboration, and respect for lived experience.
We provide specialist eating disorders treatment grounded in a non-diet, weight-inclusive, and Health at Every Size (HAES®) aligned approach.
We know that food and body experiences are deeply personal, and healing cannot be approached with a one-size-fits-all solution. That’s why we take the time to listen, understand each person’s story, and walk alongside them in discovering what recovery, wellbeing, and food freedom mean in their own lives.
At The Recovering Place, we are dedicated to creating an environment that is affirming of all bodies, neurodivergent identities, sexualities, genders, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Our hope is that every person who seeks support here feels cared for, empowered, and able to take steps towards a more peaceful relationship with food and their body.
Yive Yang (she/her)
Accredited Practising Dietitian | Credentialed Eating Disorders Clinician | PhD Researcher
Hello, I’m Yive — an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Lived Experience Advocate. I founded The Recovering Place with the belief that healing looks different for everyone, and that recovery becomes possible when each person’s story is met with respect, compassion, and care.
My work is guided by my own lived experience, and by the voices of those I have the privilege of working alongside. It is grounded in empathy and shaped by a non-diet, weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size (HAES®) aligned approach. I see each relationship not as something to fix, but as a journey to walk together. Rather than relying on rigid rules or prescriptive plans, I work collaboratively to discover what feels sustainable and supportive for each individual.
I feel especially privileged to support neurodivergent people and those from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I adapt care to meet each person where they are, and to honour who they are. Alongside my clinical work, I am completing a PhD at Western Sydney University, exploring the role of dietitians in eating disorder treatment through the lens of lived experience. This research strengthens my practice and deepens my commitment to ensuring that treatment reflects what people themselves have found most helpful in recovery.
I also regularly engage in specialist training in eating disorders, neurodiversity, and body image care to ensure my practice is evidence-based and continually evolving.

I also support individuals with general health concerns, without a focus on weight or body size, including insulin resistance, Type 2 Diabetes, PCOS, and heart health.
Above all, I hope to offer a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported in moving towards your own version of recovery.
Outside of work, I love playing Dungeons & Dragons, hanging out with my three cats, travelling, and baking. (Fun fact: My sister named me after the Pokémon Eevee — that’s how my name is pronounced!)
